We’ve been supporting young people for 25 years, and we’re not about to stop now. Just because we have closed our doors, that doesn’t mean we have stopped caring. We are still here, and are ready to offer support in as many ways as we can.
What is Youthscape’s 'Digital Mentoring'?
Young people will meet with a mentor once or twice a week (you can decide how regularly you would like to meet before you begin) for a 20-minute check-in, using an easy-to-use video calling platform.
During these twenty minutes you can expect to talk about how you're doing, how you're looking after your mental health/wellbeing at home, some highlights and lowlights of the week so far, as well as space for you to ask questions or talk about things that might be affecting you at the moment.
Currently these mentoring sessions will run until the end of April, we will then reassess the situation, and extend the mentoring if we feel it would be helpful. (Parents, we will get back in touch in April to let you know whether our mentoring programme will then cease, or to gain your consent for us to continue)
If at any point you decide you don’t want mentoring any more, just let your mentor know (we promise they won’t be offended) and we will arrange a final session!
We will need to gain parental/carer's consent, and send over information packs that explain in detail how the service works, how we safeguard young people, and how information is stored. So please make sure your parent/carer's details are fully filled in, otherwise we won’t be able to begin the mentoring process.
