Hi,

October is a very busy month for our team. Heading towards half-term, preparations for the National Youth Ministry Weekend in November are in full swing, as well as a wide variety of work going on across the different Youthscape teams.

Weekdays, after school, our local team and volunteers work with young people in Drop In, having fun, cooking and eating together.

On Thursday’s, Emily, Abby & Raquel, run the Fearless course at Youthscape. With the aim of helping students (referred to us by local schools) grow in confidence. With a particular focus on building positive relationships with themselves, others, and the world.

On Fridays, Jermaine and Gemma, are also running Beyond the Pitch. A football project that uses the medium of football to support and encourage young people to learn different skills, and to better equip them as they learn to manage their emotions within the school environment.

Also, in partnership with Bedfordshire VEPP (Violence & Exploitation Prevention Partnership), the multi-agency gangs panel, and local police, the local team are piloting a new project on Fridays: Interrupt. An early-intervention programme designed to support young people at risk of exploitation, gang involvement, or school disengagement, and to give them the opportunity to meet with positive role models, and to help guide them away from risky behaviour.

On Tuesday 6th October, at 7pm, our Youthscape Essentials team have their next online deep dive, which will be hosted by Rachel Gardner. She will be talking about ministry with young people in neighbourhoods of deprivation. (You can find more information here: https://www.youthscape.co.uk/o...)

We’re busy serving churches and young people in whatever way can at this time. So thank you, we’re very grateful for you praying with us so faithfully for young people.

1st (Thu)	October is Black History Month. Pray for schools to engage positively with conversations about restoration, anti-racism, & racial justice.
2nd (Fri)	Pray for Luton Unite this evening. The leaders & young people will be looking at the theme of masculinity - what the world is teaching young people about this subject, & what God might have to say in response.
3rd (Sat)	Pray for Gillian, as she leads workshops today at the Methodist’s national youth conference in Birmingham. Bringing insight & encouragement to youth leaders & young people.
4th (Sun)	Please pray for more youth workers, church leaders, & volunteers to sign up to the NYMW over the next few weeks. (https://www.youthscape.co.uk/n...)
5th (Mon)	Pray for our CEO Chris, as he enjoys a well-earned, 3 month sabbatical. Pray that God will draw close to him & speak to him in this season of rest & renewal.
6th (Tue)	This evening is the YSE Deep Dive: Ministry with young people in neighbourhoods of deprivation. Pray for Rachel Gardner - who’ll be talking about supporting young people living in deprived areas.
7th (Wed)	Pray for Alex DuRand, (currently on maternity leave), & her husband & daughter, as they all get to know the newest member of their family.
8th (Thu)	On Thursdays, Abby, Emily & Raquel are running Fearless. Pray for them, as they work with vulnerable young people, & pray that the course will have a positive impact on the lives of those attending.
9th (Fri)	Pray for Jermaine & Gemma, running: Beyond the Pitch at Stockwood Park Academy this month. Pray that being involved will have a positive & lasting effect on young people’s lives.
10th (Sat)	Today is World Mental Health day. Pray for God to equip staff & youth workers who work with young people struggling with their mental health.
11th (Sun)	Pray for young people experiencing racism, & for those whose families have immigrated to the UK for safety, or work, that they’ll feel safe. Pray for God’s protection, particularly in the light of recent tensions in the UK.
12th (Mon)	Pray for all the Alumina volunteers, as they run groups in October. Pray too for young people who are back in schools & colleges, & the stresses that these can bring to their lives.
13th (Tue)	Pray for Martin & Chris, as they travel to the USA to speak at a major youth ministry conference, & as they meet with key funders.
14th (Wed)	Praise God for the amazing testimonies we’re hearing from Satellites - of young people meeting Jesus, & of some being baptised in their local churches.
15th (Thu)	Pray for our Research team, Hannah & Robson. And, based on their latest Research, pray about the current spike in far-right protests, & for protection for those living in fear & facing violence because of this.
16th (Fri)	Pray for our podcast team as they seek to share relevant, inspirational & entertaining content each week with our growing number of listeners.
17th (Sat)	For the Local team: Gemma, Emily, Abby, Jermaine, & Ebony. Pray that they’ll know God’s presence & wisdom in their work with young people across Luton.
18th (Sun)	Pray that God will bless the work of the local team, as they work with young people in Luton. And pray too for the young people they are working with.
19th (Mon)	The local team has a new cohort of young leaders joining this term. Pray for these young people (from school years 12 & 13) who’ll be stepping up & taking more responsibility in Drop-in.
20th (Tue)	Today, pray for the Youthscape Essentials team, as they train new hosts - who, in turn, will lead YSE courses. Pray for them to be able to effectively pass on their knowledge to these new course leaders.
21st (Wed)	Pray for the team working on next month’s National Youth Ministry Weekend, as they brief speakers, plan logistics, & answer queries about the event.
22nd (Thu)	Pray for Jeff - who designs & manages our website. We keep him very busy, so please pray for him as he manages his work with Youthscape alongside other work & his family.
23rd (Fri)	Pray for new Launchpad cohorts: in Chester, Newcastle, Edmonton, St Albans & Hereford Dioceses. Portsmouth, Berkshire, & Milton Keynes are also running courses.
24th (Sat)	Pray for God’s divine peace - which surpasses all understanding - to come into communities fractured by deprivation, poverty, devision, & racism.
25th (Sat)	Pray for young people around the UK who are struggling. That they will be brave enough to ask for help, & for this to be met with a positive response, & meaningful support.
26th (Mon)	This week is half term. Pray for young people for whom home life is challenging, & for young carers who are looking after family members & may well have extra responsibilities during the holidays.
27th (Tue)	Pray for our busy Alumina team. That they’d know God’s love, wisdom, & strength as they support young people. Pray too for those young people who are currently on the waiting list.
28th (Wed)	Pray for parents, adopters, surrogates, & those who care for young people. May God help them to love, serve, & provide for those in their care.
29th (Thu)	Pray for the young people who came to Satellites - that God will continue to grow their faith.
30th (Fri)	Pray for Dioceses who are in the early phases of considering Launchpad, for God to lead & inspire them.
31st (Sat)	Please pray for the wider Satellites team as they meet to pray, reflect on Satellites ‘Look Up’ 2026, & begin to make plans for summer 2027.
