A day at Satellites
Over nine main sessions at Satellites, we’ll focus on what it means to place God at the centre of our lives by teaching seven key values which we believe are vital to the God-centred life: prayer, worship, family, the power of the Holy Spirit, justice, evangelism and creativity. Through workshops, talks and experiences, we’ll demonstrate why these ideas can transform and revolutionise our lives, and we’ll show young people how to take them home.
Our early mornings will be packed with activities that build a healthy life – spiritually, physically and socially, with loads of opportunities to learn (with others) things like how to establish quiet times with God, seeing a morning run as an act of worship or engaging creatively in prayer.
Mid-morning we’ll be gathering for our first main meeting of the day – an opportunity to worship with others, hear from top quality speakers, pray together and unpack what it means to put God at the centre of our lives.
Afternoons at Satellites are where we put into practice the idea of putting God at the centre of every aspect of our lives. We’ll have interactive venues ready to welcome you including Canvas, our creative venue with workshops, art, media and creative talks throughout the day. We’ll also make room for a prayer space, heaps of cafés, many teaching and discussion sessions, a sports programme and so much more!
As evening arrives, we’ll head back to The Arena for our second gathering of the day and more fun, worshipping, learning and praying together.
Head out into the night and experience one of our late-night creative sessions, an after-hours café hangout or a worship gathering before turning in for the night, ready to do it all again tomorrow.

Arrival and departure info
Guests can arrive at Satellites from midday on Tuesday 9 August, with our first main meeting together that evening. The final main meeting will be on the evening of Saturday 13 August, and you’re welcome to stay on site that night. We’re asking everyone to be packed up and on their way home by midday on Sunday 14 August.
Youth leaders! You’re really important to us, and we know that you’re incredibly important to your young people too – especially as they navigate a week with God together. That’s why we’re going to do everything we can to make sure that Satellites is a great week for you too! Having chatted with some of you about what you want and need at Satellites, here’s a flavour of what we’re offering:
We'll provide a whole bunch of resources and templates ahead of the event to help make it as easy as possible for you to bring your group to Satellites - plus we'll be running some online sessions in the run up to Satellites to make sure that you're fully equipped and know what to expect as you step foot onto the site. We'll also give you a sneak peak of the programme ahead of time to help you plan what your group's week might look like!
The team from the National Youth Ministry Weekend will be on hand with training, inspiration and ideas to equip your work. We’ll also work hard to help you build on your group’s experience at Satellites so that it impacts them all year round.
We know how hard youth leaders work and how rare it is to get some precious spiritual input for themselves, so we're planning to offer opportunities for team and individuals to receive coaching, and we'll create some quiet places on site for you to spend time in prayer yourself.
We’re putting together an amazing dedicated kids programme (find out more below!) for your little ones, so that you can participate in the main programme with your young people whilst having peace of mind that your children are also having a blast!
We are passionate about ensuring that everyone feels welcome at Satellites - and that includes the children of our amazing youth leaders and incredible team members! We want Satellites to be an event that is fun and engaging for everyone, no matter their age.
That’s why, alongside the main programme, we’re developing two kids programmes:
Satellites Kids for 5-12 year olds
Satell-Mites for 1-4 year olds
There will be morning sessions (and evening sessions for Satellites Kids) that run just a little bit longer than the main meetings - so that there's plenty of time for you to drop your kids off and get back to your youth groups to engage with them for the whole session without being worried about getting back to pick up your kids on time.
Alongside games, drama, experiments, crafts, sports and maybe even a gunge tank(!), the kids on site at Satellites will be encouraged to explore what it looks like to put God at the centre of their lives using the seven values of Satellites in a way that is suitable and engaging for them, as well as making friends and having a lot of fun along the way!
Although we're sadly not able to provide childcare for under 1's, we'll do our best to make camping with a baby as easy as possible. We'll provide an area for baby bathing each afternoon, electric hook-ups will be available to hire on all camping villages and we'll make sure there are plenty of quieter spaces across the site for you to access if you and your little one just need a dry, comfortable place for a while.
Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to make the time as comfortable and easy as possible for you and your baby.
