Colossians

Colossians is in the New Testament and it’s a letter written by a man named Paul to the church is Colossae. Paul travelled around sharing the amazing message of Jesus, planting churches and encouraging churches to be more like Jesus. He wrote lots of the New Testament. Paul hadn’t ever actually been to the church in Colossae but the person who started it, visited Paul and encouraged him with the faith of the believers but also let him know some of the struggles they faced. At the time Paul writes this letter he is in prison. He alludes to this in the letter.

Paul celebrates the faithfulness of the church members, he writes about suffering and also the pressure people felt to compromise their faith or turn away from it. He reminds them that there is no part of human existence that is untouched by the love and freedom of Jesus.
