Theme and programme
"Your lives aren't small," writes Eugene Peterson in The Message, "but you're living them in a small way."
For so many young people, that's never been more tragically true. Hypnotised by technology, swamped by fear, anxiety and overwhelm, they can retreat into the empty comfort of distraction. Yet their lives were never meant to be like this. If they can only catch a glimpse of the God who made the universe and yet knows them by name, a far greater adventure is still possible.
This year at Satellites, we want to help young people understand just how great and majestic that God really is. The God who made the stars; the God who fills the oceans; the God who punched a hole in death that the rest of us can escape through. He is in every way magnificent: his words, his creation, his actions in our lives and throughout history. So in order to know him better, we're going to look up together.
We're going to wonder at the glory of his creativity and creation; we're going to gaze in awe at his revelation and redemption in Jesus. We are surrounded by reminders of his extraordinary power, creativity and love, but in times like these, our senses can be dulled to their impact.
So this summer, join us for five days of discovery, memory making, and life-changing encounter. As we re-engage our sense of child-like wonder; as we invite young people to embrace a bigger vision for their lives, for the world, and for their view of God.
In a world that tries to keep us staring down, it's time to look up.
Who's speaking at this
year's event?
We're so excited to share with you some of the INCREDIBLE speakers we have coming to join us this summer. Full list coming soon....
Joash P Thomas
Father Joash is a Masala Chai theologian, challenging the Church and world towards justice & peacemaking. Drawing from his St. Thomas Indian Christian roots and an ancient, Jesus-centred and
justice-oriented understanding of Scripture, Fr. Joash helps audiences reimagine a faith that unites rather than divides—and that stands firmly with neighbours on the margins.
Through speaking engagements and teaching engagements all over the world, he calls Christians to a more contemplative yet courageous activism, motivated by the grace-filled, non-violent way of Jesus. Born and raised in India, Fr. Joash served as a U.S. political consultant and lobbyist before pivoting to global human rights advocacy.

Jeronne is the founder of Uhambo The Journey, an online video Bible study resource aimed at helping individuals and churches understand the Bible for themselves.
