More Detail

A new series of books addressing key emotional and mental health issues from a Christian perspective.

We’ve written this short book to help you learn more about self-harm, dispel some myths and provide some practical tools to support someone who is self-harming or feels scared that they might start.

Whether you’re a professional working with teenagers, a family member or a friend, we hope to acknowledge the difficulties many of us feel when responding to self-harm, to bring more understanding as to why somebody might turn to self-harm, and help you make sense of the emotions you may be feeling in response.

The book is divided into three sections:

  • Recognising the issue- identifying when self-harm may be becoming an issue for a young person
  • Understanding the issue- A comprehensive look at the triggers and situations that can contribute to a young person’s self-harm
  • Responding to the issue- A range of practical ideas and strategies you can use with young people to help them understand and regain control over their harming.

Also available in packs of 10 so that churches can provide them for all parents.
