‘Be still and know that I am God’ – Psalm 46:10
We know that it can be challenging for young people exploring their Christian faith to develop a practice of stillness and silence. Life is often filled with activities and distractions that lure them away from taking time to listen to what God might have to say to them.
Be Still is designed to give young people the tools to build silence into their daily routine and to help them create space in their day to hear from God.
The resource guides them through a three-stage process:
1. What’s on your mind? - A chance for young people to write down all their worries and distractions.
2. What might God be saying to you? - A space to hear from God and to draw or write thoughts and images that come to mind.
3. What are you going to take away from this time of stillness? - A moment to collect all that God has been saying into one statement that they can reflect on for the rest of the day.
At each stage, the sand timer is turned to allow the time needed to reflect on each of the questions, using the note pad to record their thoughts.
Be Still is ideal as a gift for young people aged 13-18, or a way to encourage young people in their prayer life.
Be Still includes a sand timer*, a prompt sheet, a note pad and a pencil all contained inside a zipped cotton bag that doubles as a place to put your phone away.
*Please note that this product contains glass.
