Trans young people are too often spoken about as a political issue, a cultural controversy, or a theological battleground – rather than as real people with real stories. Many youth leaders are left asking: How do we respond with wisdom, compassion, and integrity when a trans young person is part of our youth group or wider community?
In this YSE Deep Dive, Chris Curtis shares his personal journey of listening and learning from trans young people themselves, alongside exploring the range of ways youth ministry can thoughtfully approach this complex and sensitive topic. Expect a space that is honest, grounded, and practical – helping you lead with both conviction and care.
This is an ideal opportunity to gather your youth team to help consider how you could implement simple changes and patterns in your context. The session includes pause points for discussion, moments to practice a skill to support your youth groups and time to reflect.
