If your child is part of Luton Unite and wants to attend the group trip to the Satellites summer event, give your permission and purchase their tickets here.

Satellites Youth Gathering

  • DATES: Friday 2nd August - Wednesday 7th August 2024
  • LOCATION: Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallett (drop-off/pick-up in Luton)
  • COST: £20 deposit (final ticket price to be confirmed at the beginning of June based on fundraising efforts, but aiming to be £150 maximum)

Every year Luton Unite organise a trip during the summer holidays to a youth event. This year, the National Youthscape team will be running a summer event called Satellites which will be held at the Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallett, and will be attended by young people from across the UK.

The Luton Unite team are passionate about their faith and it is the driving force behind all we do for young people, for us the summer camps are an opportunity for our young people to explore what faith means to them in a safe and fun environment. This year we will be travelling to the Satellites event and would like to invite young people in school year 7-13 to join us!

The event takes place Friday 2nd - Wednesday 7th August 2024. We will be leaving on the Friday morning at 9.15am from Youthscape, and arrive back on the Wednesday at about 2pm. The week is packed full of activities, including: live music, silent discos, a skate park, a colour run, sports tournaments, climbing wall, a UV party and move nights, as well as talks and seminars exploring the Christian faith.

Buying a ticket

Each church attending Satellites with Luton Unite will be expected to do some fundraising activities in the run up to the event to reduce the ticket price for the young people wanting to attend. This means that we are currently asking for a deposit of £20 per young person to secure their ticket.

At the beginning of June 2024 we will assess where we are at in terms of fundraising and will then be able to publish the final ticket price, which will cover the young person’s tent, transport, and all their meals and activities. We are expecting that the final price will be between £100-£150 maximum. It will then be possible to pay the remainder of the ticket price if a deposit has been made (or to pay the full ticket price if no deposit has been made). All tickets will need to be paid in full by Tuesday 2nd July at the latest.

If you would like your child to attend Satellites with Luton Unite, please do complete the consent and medical form below and pay their deposit as soon as possible to secure their place. If you purchase a ticket beyond the beginning of June, you will be expected to pay the full ticket price all at once.

It is essential for you to attend our Parent/Carers meeting on Tuesday 2nd July from 7pm-8pm at Youthscape. There will be an opportunity for you to meet the team who will be supervising your child whilst away at the event, find out more about Satellites, receive important information about what your child will need to bring, as well as an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. If you have any questions or would like to speak to someone from the team before this, do feel free to contact Robert McNerney at robert.mcnerney@youthscape.co.uk
