Youth work is relentless, a never-ending pursuit of seeing young people known, loved, challenged and held. It’s full of the emotional weight of their fears and frustrations, mixed with our own questions and coffee-fuelled meltdowns. Doing youth work in today's world that is full of crisis, political uncertainty, poverty, environmental damage, where prophetic voices seem silenced; it's often hard, sometimes dark and at moments, it feels hopeless. And yet, we believe in a God who is the dawning light of this world - who breaks through the darkest moments and who isn’t just bringing hope, but is hope itself. We believe in a God who is already working wondrous things in and through our young people; on the days we see it and on the days we are too tired and tear-stained to. As we see the dawn of a new year and a new decade we wanted collectively to start this year by reflecting on hope. On the God of hope. On the hope to be found today, and the hope to live for tomorrow.
Join us as we look to hope this new year.
