We are really pleased to be able to welcome our new Senior Researcher - Robson Dodd. You might recognise him - he's a pretty familiar face to Youthscape. Previously working as the Programme Manager for Alumina, he has recently made the move into the Research Team. Read on to find out more about him and his research interests!
At the beginning of September, Robson joined The Centre for Research.
Let's get to know him a bit better:
Robson started working for Youthscape as an Alumina volunteer in 2020, whilst he was completing his Masters in Clinical Health Psychology. During this time, he was working in a number of different roles throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic, including on a research project into friendship during lockdown. You can read this here. In Autumn 2022, Robson formally joined the Alumina team as Alumina Programme Manager, first as Maternity cover and then as a permanent position. He has been working for Youthscape ever since!
He has lots of experience and skills within the research world, including his Masters in Clinical Health Psychology which followed an MA Joint Honours in Psychology and Social and Public Policy (both of which included training in qualitative and quantitative research methods). He also has a Certificate of Higher Education in Practical Theology and completed a placement in the Social Psychology Research Lab at Goethe University in Frankfurt!
Robson's particular research interests are: understanding social and political concepts for young people, exploring identity (faith and beyond), and approaches to youth mental health and behaviour change.
More than just a Researcher, Robson:
- lives in Scotland!
- has a Mancunian accent
- is a vegan
- loves animals and nature
and
- always has niche pets - at the moment it's Glow Millipedes!
We are really pleased that Robson has joined the Centre for Research and has already thrown himself into the role, working across all 7 of our current projects!
