Abide

Abide is an exciting new discipleship project where teenage girls in churches across Luton can deepen their faith, experience community and fellowship, and grow in their skills and giftings.

As part of Abide, a group of girls aged 15-18 from Luton churches engage in a yearlong programme consisting of three parts:

  1. A weekend residential which provides space for the girls to build strong friendships, deepen in faith, and encounter God together.
  2. Monthly informal gatherings that combine social time, faith-based content, and input from our team. These sessions are specifically designed to support leadership development.
  3. The year culminates in a conference day, open to girls in Years 7-13 from across churches in the town. This gives the girls who have been taking part in the programme to put their learning into practice and to inspire younger girls in their faith. The girls will play a key role in helping to lead and facilitate the conference day.

Our heart is to see young women of faith supported, equipped, and empowered to live out what they believe with confidence and to become positive influences within their churches and communities.

If you have any questions about this programme or would like to apply for the next year starting in September 2026, please email abby.pounce@youthscape.co.uk.

Abide Conference Day

Location: Luton Christian Fellowship (LCF), 101 Castle Street, Luton, LU1 3AL

Date: Saturday 18th July 2026

Time: 11am-4pm

This summer, we are bringing together girls from across churches in Luton for something special.

The Abide Conference Day is a one-day event for girls in Years 7-13 to experience community and grow in their faith together. It’s a chance to step out of the everyday, meet new people, and explore what it means to follow Jesus as a young woman today. The day is planned and led by those on the Abide programme, using their gifts to support, lead, and encourage younger girls.

The theme for this year’s conference is Her Foundation and we will be unpacking how God’s love and our faith can impact the other areas of our lives, particularly school, friendships, mental health etc.

We want to create a space where young women can build genuine friendships across different churches and backgrounds, feel safe to explore the challenges and questions that affect their faith, and be inspired and encouraged by other females across the Luton Christian community.

It’s an interactive, creative, and fun day led by girls, for girls. There will be:

  • Fun games and activities.
  • Interactive sessions, talks, and seminars.
  • Worship and time to reflect.
  • Space for prayer and pastoral support.

Food will be provided and every attendee will receive a goodie bag.

This event is completely free, but spaces are limited – so sign up quickly to secure your place.

Book before May 31st and you will also receive a free Abide tote bag on the day…don’t miss out!
