Jesus is famous for the stories he told. Two thousand years after he first unleashed them on the world they are turned into Sunday School colouring sheets. But when he first told them they were considered so incendiary, so provocative, so threatening to the powers that be, that Jesus wound up dead. Open Me Season 8 is opening up those dangerous stories again. We've invited our writers to explore how Jesus' parables disrupted the social, political and religious powers of his day, and left individuals reeling. We're asking how they might disrupt our lives today, and what it might mean to follow someone who chooses disruption over popularity at every turn. We're partnering with The Salvation Army this season and we've invited some of their youth workers to bring their practical experiences with young people to bear on the stories in question.
