Compass is a six-week course designed to help students re-engage with their education and grow in determination, resilience and aspiration.
Dear parents/carers
Your child has been selected by their school to receive the opportunity to take part in Youthscape’s ‘Compass’ course. This will happen over six Tuesdays in the Youthscape building between 25th April and 6th June 2023. There will be a week’s break on Tuesday 30th May due to it being half term. You will have received further information in your Parent Pack.
‘Compass’ is designed to help students re-engage with their education and grow in determination, resilience and aspiration. Through taking part in ‘Compass' students will feel empowered to take responsibility for their lives and to set and reach positive goals, which will help them do well at GCSE level and beyond. Our programme includes both formal teaching and off-site experiential learning as well as a one night residential, giving young people the opportunity to learn both within and outside of classroom settings.
During each ‘Compass' session the young people will explore different themes that develop a range of skills. These themes are: Commitment, Character, Community, Communication, Cause and Courage.
In order for your child to take part in this course we need you to complete the below consent form. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Gemma Milligan at gemma.milligan@youthscape.co.uk.
